Together, our board understands the real challenges men and women face when rebuilding their lives after mental health struggles, substance use disorder, incarceration, and reintegration into society. This unique combination of wisdom, compassion, accountability, and firsthand understanding allows us to serve with purpose, guide our population with dignity, and help create a stronger path toward stability, independence, healing, and lasting hope.

Sanctuary Community Initiative is led by a board that understands the people we serve from both professional and lived experience.
Our leadership includes individuals with more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, recovery support, reentry services, and community-based care. Alongside that professional expertise, our board also includes members with lived experience, including those who understand firsthand the challenges of long-term incarceration, reintegration, recovery, and rebuilding a life after crisis.
This combination matters.
We are not simply guessing at what people need. We understand the barriers individuals face when returning to society after mental health challenges, substance use disorder, incarceration, and life disruption. We know that healing does not end after treatment, release, or a program discharge. True stability often requires continued guidance, safe community, practical resources, accountability, encouragement, and people who believe restoration is possible.
At Sanctuary Community Initiative, our board helps guide the organization with compassion, wisdom, and real-world understanding. We are committed to serving men and women with dignity, meeting them where they are, and helping them move toward stability, independence, and hope.
